Paul Anderson

Paul brings over 16 years of small business experience to our team. His passion for bicycles and bicycling has led from amateur enthusiasm in the 1970's to professional engagement in Lifecycle Bicycles (previously Recycle Cycles) since it's opening in 1984. He held an advisory position on the State Cycling Council from 1999 to 2002 and was instrumental in the introduction of nationally accredited Bicycle Mechanic Training in 2000 (which also happens to remain his highest formal qualification).

Paul 'hung up his apron' as manager at Lifecycle in 2000, and has since been developing his nascent art practice. Paul maintains a keen interest in sustainable transport and renewable energy issues as well as art and the environment, and has recently been commissioned to produce ”Adelaide's first post-automobile era bicycle parking sculpture” for the cafe strip of Norwood Parade. Other art projects undertaken outside hgd include From Seed to Bloom (combining jewellry and gardening) with John Roy (2002), minor furniture commissions, and The Tower, a 9m high interactive sustainably powered sculpture with Kneehigh Puppeteers and others, for the North Tce Museum lawns (2004).
