McCormick Centre for the Environment
River/Mallee Botanic Art Garden
Concept Design and Implementation strategy

A slightly different commission, but one well suited to our skills, was the design of a “River/Mallee Botanic Art Garden” for this $2 million Centre located just outside Renmark. Managed by the Australian Landscape Trust, the McCormick Centre for the Environment was established to support environmental education and research, eco tourism and to provide the local community with a valuable interpretive resource for the Murray-Darling and Mallee country in which they live.

Our plan provides for the interpretation of the natural environment through art, emphasising the employment of local artists and the involvement of the local community in as much of the development as possible.

The McCormick Centre was successful in an application to the South Australian Country Arts Trust (SACAT) for funding to develop this project.
